Lagda Patti sarees
13 pieces · from ₹3,599
A Lagda Patti saree is a saree whose pallu is framed with a woven satin patti, a contrasting band that gives the end piece a clean edge and a little structure. Patti simply means band. The spelling also appears as Ladga Patti. We carry Lagda Patti sarees in modal silk, in colours from soft pastels to deep wines, and a number of them pair the patti with Ajrakh, Bandhani or Gharchola bodies.
The appeal is balance. The body can be plain or printed, and the satin patti draws a line that makes the pallu look finished and intentional. That makes a Lagda Patti saree an easy one to wear to a festival, a dinner or a family event, without needing much more than a simple blouse and a pair of earrings. Pairing a pastel patti with a deep body, or the reverse, is the simplest way to change the mood of the same saree.

How to choose a Lagda Patti saree
Decide how strong the contrast should be
A patti close to the body colour looks understated and polished. A patti in a clear contrast, such as gold-toned on maroon, reads as bold from across the room. Neither is wrong. Choose according to the event and how much you want to be noticed.
Pastel or deep
Pastels feel light and work for daytime gatherings and spring and summer occasions. Wines and deep shades feel formal and suit evenings. If you are building a small collection, one of each covers most of your calendar.
Check the body
Some Lagda Patti sarees have a plain body and some carry Ajrakh, Bandhani or Gharchola. A plain body is the easiest to style and the quietest in photographs. A printed body gives you more to look at and asks for simpler jewellery.
Look after the satin
Satin catches on rough surfaces and rings. Pin your pallu with a smooth brooch rather than a heavy clip, and put the saree away folded in a soft cover. Dry clean unless the product page says otherwise.
Match it to the occasion
A pastel Lagda Patti suits a daytime festival, a lunch or a family visit. A deep wine or maroon one suits evening functions. If you plan to wear it more than once, choose the colour that works with several of your blouses.
Questions about Lagda Patti saree
What does Lagda Patti mean?
Patti means a band. On a Lagda Patti saree it is a satin band that frames the pallu. You may also see the name written as Ladga Patti.
Is a Lagda Patti saree good for everyday wear?
The modal silk is light enough for long wear, and a pastel Lagda Patti suits a lunch, a puja or a day out. Choose a plain body if you want to wear it often.
Which blouse works with a Lagda Patti saree?
A solid blouse in the body colour looks quiet and sharp. A blouse in the patti colour ties the pallu to the rest of the outfit.
How should I care for the satin patti?
Avoid rough surfaces and heavy clips, and dry clean the saree. Fold it with the patti inside so it does not rub against other fabric.
